GCD (HYDS) Low-voltage modular switchboard.
GCD Modular Type Fixed Low-voltage Switchboard
General
GCD Modular Type Low Voltage Switchboard was the patent product of 1990s,which was designed by our company. Low Voltage Electrical Testing Center of National Electrical Equipment Testing Office has rigorously tested it for 80KA type test in compliance with GB7251.1-1997 & IEC60439-1:1999 standards. Our technical level & IP protection standard are leading in our electrical switchboard industry.
This product has been rigorously tested in compliance with IEC60439-1 international standards, which ensures the excellent quality and safety of the products.
GCD modular Type Low Voltage Switchboard is especially suitable for:
● Commercial & residential high rise buildings;
● Industrial power supply;
● Power plants and oil refineries;
● Chemical plant industry;
● Air conditioning, heating and ventilation system;
● Off-shore drilling platforms and vessels.
The develop progress of GCD
Draw-out version low voltage switchboard was successfully developed by European companies in 1970s. The concept of disconnected, tested & connected 3 positions in switchgear has been accepted and promoted through out the world.
Since the draw-out version switchboard has the draw- out compartment which needs the “middle mechanism“ (Note 1) to attain the positions of 1) disconnected, 2) test, 3) connected. The main fixed version circuit- breaker is installed in the drawer which can be connected or disconnected from the busbar by pushing it manually. The contact mechanism is a double splinter type, that’s why the longer time it passes, the weaker elasticity it gets , the poorer contact performance and the shorter life it is.
Furthermore, all components are fixed installed, it is difficult to exchange in case of damage. Therefore, that kind of draw-out version switchboard is poor in performance, complicated in manufacturing and the degree of exchange is low.
In the mid-1980s, some big circuit-breaker factories in the world (such as ABB & Schneider & SIEMENS etc.) has developed draw-out version mechanism in the body of moulded case circuit-breaker, draw-out or plug-in circuit-breaker. That kind of circuit-breakers do not need to add "middle mechanism". That is the main reason that we adopt the advanced draw-out or plug-in base of circuit-breakers and self designs and develops GCD Modular Type Low Voltage Switchboard so as to overcome the shortage of "middle mechanism".
Note 1: Middle mechanism: the plug-in accessories, which connected between draw-out version compartment and switchboard.
The Features of GCD Switchboard
1. Adopting advanced Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) and Moulded Case Circuit-Breaker (MCCB) (ABB & Schneider & SIEMENS etc.) ACB adopts draw-out version, rear terminals; MCCB adopts draw-out or plug-in version, rear terminals.
2. Using the advanced intelligent Universal Power Meter, it can be connected to the Building Administration System (BAS) for monitoring and controlling.
3. Using the advanced compensation bank, it fits to frequent switching load,and the reaction time is less than 20ms.
4. There is a rotary handle operating mechanism between the compartment door and MCCB unit. It is always fit with padlock device for open condition to prevent circuit-breaker from being closed.
5. Separate door lock is installed on each compartment door to prevent door opened carelessly.
6. Adoption rear terminal MCCB ensures that once the compartment door is opened .there is no conductor reveals inside the compartment. (Note: the compartment door cannot open when the circuit- breaker is being closed.)
7. The basic 25mm modular frames (model “C” frames) are made from 2mm thick electro-galvanised steel sheet, modular type, easy assemble , good in rigidity, light weight,easy lift up.
8. The capacitors are connected in parallel, which can increase the power factor, improve the voltage quality, and decrease the energy lose in the line. The maximum capacity of each compensation bank can reach at 540kVar. (width=800mm).
9. Can replace spare parts easily, replace switchgear components is easier than replace the whole traditional draw-out compartment.
10. Heater is installed in the cabinet to ensure operating normally in different humidity. The thermostat can adjust cabinet temperature to keep it dry and ensures there is a safe working condition, (optional)
11. By using advanced compact circuit-breakers and other high quality components. For 80A MCCB or below, each switchboard (width=600mm) can install at most 18 power circuits(MCCB).
12. Switchgear compartments are made up by different
kinds of circuit scheme according to different current grade,different application to meet
different customers requirement.
13. GCD switchboard can also provide Form 4b separation.That is to say, all the functional items of outgoing terminals are separated completely.
14. Compact in size, attractive price.

Basic Frame
The dimensions of GCD Switchboard is 600/800/ 900/1200/1500 (width) x 2200 (height) x 1000/800/ 600(depth)mm,the fixed height of switchgear compartment is1800mm. It is tested in accordance to GB and IEC standards. It is designed based on 25mm modular frame and is suitable for extension, rearrangement of the system at your own will
-- Frame— the basic 25mm model " C ” modular frame are made from 2mm thick electrogalvanized steel sheet which are coupled to a unique corner joining the three axis (X. Y. Z) (ref to below Fig).
-- Door and panel --all doors,panel covers and side plates are made of 2mm thick electrogalvanized steel plates which are inter-changeable. The panel covers and side plates can be built with or without lourves or with ventilation fans for cooling and can be integrated at any side. The doors are fitted with integral gasket and earth stud as standard production practise.
-- Base Frame — the base frame is made of 3mm thick electoral vanished steel plate finished with black color. The standard height of the base frame is about 50mm .
-- Finishing color ― The frame is finished electro-galvanized color and the panel is finished with SIEMENS color epoxy powder electrostatic coating and other alternative colors upon request.
Note: 600mm depth is front operate front access type switchboard which the cable compartment is located adjacent to the switchgear compartment.

Busbar Compartment
The busbar is located at the back the switchgear compartment in the switchboard. All busbars provided are bard drawn, high conductivity, electro tin-plated copper to GB Standard. The busbars have insulating sleeve and stick A.B.C label on them separately.
The busbar may be fixed at the top, bottom or middle part of the switchboard. The horizontal main busbars and vertical busbars are supported by the moulded type glass fibre reinforced polyester which have higher mechanical strength, good heat resistance and water resistance.

Cable compartment
The cable compartment of rear access type switchboard where all the switchgear’s outgoing terminals and incoming cables / busbars are terminated for connections. There is a insulating cover on outgoing terminals in order to prevent touching the terminals careless. The cable compartment are segregated by lourved plates to facilitate ventilation of heat. At the lower part of the switchboard, there is an earthed busbar of standard size which is running on the whole length of the switchboard. Alternative earthing bar size may be available to suit the site requirement.
The cable compartment of front access type switchboard is located adjacent to the switchgear compartment. The back to back arrangement of front access switchboard can optimize the switchboard room space.
Outgoing Terminal Compartment
The standard GCD switchboard provides From 3b separation which is according to GB7251.1- 1997 & IEC60439-1 That is the outgoing terminal of all the functional items are not separated completely. HYDS switchboard can also provide Form 4b separation. That is to say, all the functional item of outgoing terminals are separated completely.
